What is an FSA?
FSA stands for Family Support Adviser. Originating from PSA's - Parent Support Advisers that were introduced as a pilot scheme in 2007 by the government of the time. The pilot successfully ensured 717 schools had a PSA. By the end of 2009 almost half of all schools had hired a PSA to support their families. This increased further however due to huge funding cuts over the past few years, there are less and less schools who can afford to employ a PSA. With cuts in funding and an increase in children on the SEN register, more and more parents are needing support.
SENsational Families with the support of The National Lottery Community Fund have successfully employed 5 highly qualified Specialist SEND FSA's to help provide the essential support needed.
