The NHS has a number of resources that have been designed to help you if and when you need to visit the hospital.
At the NNUH there is a small team of Learning Disability Nurses who are there to make your life easier. They are there to help you. If you know you are having to visit the NNUH Hospital make sure you get in touch in advance.
All their contact details are below - this includes photos! Ideally email as they are a very small team and so will not often be by their phones.
There is also a document called a Health Passport which can be filled in by parents, social workers or even the disability nurses if you need more help! They get added to your child's file and are there to support all staff at the hospital make your visit easier. Download them here and then once complete let the Disability team have it so they can update the details.
The Little Journey App
There is also an amazing App called Little Journey which is well worth checking out if your child likes the iPad as it shows you the whole hospital. The EDP wrote an article about it which you can read by clicking here.
