We have put a list of other agencies who provide emergency support and who should be available over the holiday period.

Mind in Norfolk & Waveney

If you feel like you are in need of urgent help and want to talk to someone you have the following options:

 For urgent medical attention, you can call 999, visit Accident & Emergency (A&E) or make an Emergency GP appointments.

For urgent medical advice you can call the NHS on 111 (England).

You can talk to Samaritans anytime on 116 123 and this isnt just for those who are feeling suicidal.

If you are under 19 you can contact Childline about anything. Whatever your worry, it is better out than in. Call 0800 1111.

Safeguarding Concerns - Children’s Advice and Duty Service

If you are a professional, i.e. working with a child or young person in a formal or voluntary setting and not a family member or member of the public, you can contact the Children’s Advice and Duty Service on their direct line: 0344 800 8021.

Help in a crisis

There is an emergency. I am in immediate danger or other people are in danger.

Call 999 and request an ambulance and/or police.

I am in crisis. I need support and advice urgently and I am already a Trust service user.

If you are a Trust service user you should have been given a contact number for when you are in crisis. If you cannot find this number, please contact the team you are seeing by calling them direct, or via your local Access and Assessment team in:

Urgent out of hours help - Norfolk’s Emergency Duty Team

What they do - During emergencies, they help:

Children and their families
People with mental health problems and disabilities
Older people and adults at risk of abuse or neglect

They are open when local daytime offices have closed, including:

Public and extra-statutory holidays
We work with other emergency services including the health services and police.

Norfolk Swift Response

This 24-hour service provides help, support and reassurance if you have an urgent, unplanned need at home but don’t need the emergency services. So for example, if your partner or carer is suddenly admitted to hospital, the Swift Response team can assist you with getting up, washing and dressing. Or if you have a fall but are not seriously injured, the team can bring special lifting equipment to help make moving as safe as possible for you.

Who can get assistance from Norfolk Swift Response?

  • Older people
  • People with physical illness or disabilities
  • People with learning difficulties
    People with mental health problems
